What does AEX do?

AEX runs the systems fiber operators use to plan, build, sell, install, activate and run their networks. That covers the OSS/BSS platform, the field service platform, and the network infrastructure and managed services underneath them. Together they take an operator from a serviceable address to a billed, supported subscriber, with no handoffs between vendors.

What’s the difference between AEX Software, AEX Field Service and AEX Network Services?

AEX Software is the OSS/BSS platform and the system of record from coverage to cash, covering coverage mapping, orders, provisioning and billing. AEX Field Service handles scheduling, dispatch and the technician mobile app. AEX Network Services is the infrastructure and operations layer: a national backbone across 14 states, a 24/7/365 NOC, a white-label helpdesk and equipment procurement.

Does AEX work with the equipment we already have?

Yes. AEX provisions and monitors ten OEM ecosystems natively, including Nokia, Calix, Huawei, ZTE and Zhone, plus any TR-069 device through the AEX ACS. You don’t need to standardize your hardware to run on one platform.

Do we need the whole platform, or can we start with one part?

You can start with one part. AEX Software, AEX Field Service and each Network Services offering, such as the NOC, helpdesk, carrier services and equipment procurement, can be bought on its own. Most operators start where the pain is worst and add more as they grow.

Does AEX support BEAD grantees?

Yes. Grantees can use AEX now for the operational backbone they need to run a network: internet exchange, backhaul, a 24/7/365 NOC, a white-label helpdesk and equipment procurement. AEX Software and AEX Field Service add subscriber management, billing and field operations as the network grows.

Is AEX the same as Field Squared or AEX One?

Yes, under new names. AEX acquired Field Squared in 2025, and it’s now AEX Field Service. The platform once called AEX One is now AEX Software.
