WHY AEX

We did not enter this market as a software vendor

AEX was founded in 2000 to build and manage broadband networks. The platform exists because we needed it to run our own fiber rollout and could not buy it.

THE STORY

Built out of need.

When fiber adoption accelerated in the early 2010s, our team rolled out fiber-to-the-home at scale across South Africa. There was no vendor-agnostic OSS/BSS that supported the full value chain for both open and closed access operators, so we built one. It became the backbone for fiber operators and ISPs in that market, and it is still running there today. In 2025, we acquired Field Squared, the field service platform our US customers were already running alongside AEX, and integrated it natively as our field execution layer. Today, AEX is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a US team serving American operators, and we are a member of the Fiber Broadband Association.

Five reasons operators choose AEX.

1-2

REASON 1

Know exactly what you can sell, before you sell it

The software was shaped by operational necessity, not a feature checklist. Every design decision in it was made by someone who had to live with the consequences at 2am.

REASON 2

One company across the whole life of a network.

Competitors sell OSS/BSS, or FSM, or network management, or transit. AEX is where all of them are one system. Owning planning, build, order, dispatch, installation, activation, billing, and assurance in one loop is what produces the outcomes; nobody gets there by integrating four vendors.

REASON 3

Vendor independence with real depth.

Ten OEM ecosystems across nearly every model those vendors ship, plus open-ended TR-069 coverage through our ACS. Operators keep procurement leverage; acquirers keep the hardware they inherit.

REASON 4

Domain data as the AI advantage.

AI capability is a commodity now. Operational grounding is not. Our agents are built on live network data, diagnostic tooling and years of resolution history across approximately 280,000 managed devices, which is not something a generic AI vendor or an internal IT team can assemble.

REASON 5

A commercial model aligned with growth.

Per-active-subscriber, pay-as-you-grow, modular adoption, hosted or self-hosted, with no requirement to replace what you already have. Our revenue grows when your subscriber base does, and not before.

"Every design decision in it was made by someone who had to live with the consequences at 2 am."

WHY AEX WAS BUILT THE WAY IT WAS

See the platform an operator built for itself.
