About AEX
Bringing OSS, BSS, and field execution together in one integrated solution
Who We Are
AEX is the operating system for broadband infrastructure. Built by network operators to fill a need, the platform connects every stage of the subscriber lifecycle, from coverage planning and sales through field execution, provisioning, and billing, in a single connected system with no handoffs, no gaps, and no third-party dependencies. Beyond software, AEX delivers the infrastructure services operators need to get networks live and keep them running, including internet exchange access, middle-mile connectivity, network managed services, technical support, and equipment supply.
Our Story
In 2000, Greg Wilson had a vision to provide high-value, end-to-end solutions for building and managing information and communication technology networks. As the fiber industry started to take off in the early 2010s, Greg and his team began rolling out fiber-to-the-home at scale across South Africa, helping connect cities and rural communities to high-speed internet for the first time. It didn't take long to realize that scaling quickly and efficiently required automating operations and business processes from concept and feasibility through installation and provisioning to operations management and customer service.
Built out of need, because what they were looking for simply didn't exist.
Greg and his team developed the AEX software platform to automate and manage all the business processes needed to operate a fiber network. Today, AEX's software is widely used in South Africa, serving as the backbone for fiber network operators and ISPs nationwide.
That same platform, tested and proven across hundreds of live deployments and refined by the people operating the networks it was built to serve, is what Greg brought to the United States, where the same gap existed.
Now headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, AEX operates with a US-based team positioned to support American operators from day one. The platform covers every step of the subscriber journey, from the moment someone wants to know if fiber is available in their area, through order capture, installation scheduling, provisioning, billing, and ongoing customer operations. Every process is connected. Every handoff is automated.
As AEX expanded across the US, one operator put the platform to work in a way that would prove more significant than anyone anticipated. Ripple Fiber, a regional operator building a modern fiber network from the ground up, was running AEX for its OSS and BSS operations while simultaneously managing its field service teams through a separate field execution platform (Field Squared). Two systems, working together across the full delivery lifecycle. The results made the case that unifying them wasn't just logical; it was necessary.
In 2025, AEX acquired and integrated that field execution capability into a single platform, bringing together OSS/BSS, field execution, asset management, and day-2 operations under one roof.
For fiber and telecom operators, the combined platform delivers a fully connected service and operations lifecycle. Providers can move from service availability to activation with fewer handoffs, fewer delays, and far greater accuracy. The result is faster scale, higher daily install capacity, and accelerated subscriber growth through a streamlined workflow from qualification to customer turn-up.
For organizations outside the fiber market, the field service capabilities at the heart of the platform remain central to the offering and are strengthened by deeper investment, expanded resources, an extended innovation roadmap, and long-term stability. Utilities, oil and gas companies, construction firms, and infrastructure service teams continue to rely on the same proven field capabilities, now supported by an even stronger foundation.
AEX connects premise data, network information, provisioning, dispatch, on-site execution, billing, and day-2 operations into a single integrated platform. Whether you are accelerating fiber growth, modernizing utility field operations, or coordinating large-scale service teams, AEX enables faster installs, more accurate field execution, higher service consistency, and a clearer path to scale.
What started as a platform built out of necessity by operators who knew what was missing has grown into the operating system for broadband infrastructure. The mission has not changed: give network operators everything they need to build, run, and grow without the complexity of stitching together systems that were never designed to work together.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help service providers and field-driven organizations operate with greater clarity, efficiency, and confidence. AEX unifies systems with the tools that power field execution, giving teams a single platform to plan, activate, deliver, and support services. We are committed to building technology that is powerful, scalable, and simple to use so our customers can accelerate growth, improve service quality, and focus on the work that matters most.
Our Leadership
AEX is led by a team focused on building a unified platform with infrastructure services that strengthen both service and field operations for organizations across telecommunications, utilities, energy, construction, and other field-intensive industries. Our leadership brings together deep experience in OSS and BSS systems, large-scale field operations, and enterprise software design.
